Review of Il Divo (2008) by F Clark W — 23 Jun 2009
There is some really compelling film making going on here, but I must admit that I could not follow it. There were Italians at the post-screening discussion who said they could not follow it, either. Their biggest criticisms were the compression of three decades of events into what seemed like a short time, and there was no balance to it.
It is certainly the filmmakers prerogative to present a point of view, but I wonder if his point might have been better served had he given us some sense of why this guy was so popular. .
