Review of Il Divo (2008) by Bee V — 03 Feb 2011
A mosaic portrait of the most influencial Italian politician of the last 50 years. The tassels are excerpts from his life, his true words, brief glimpses of some of the various mysteries attributed directly or indirectly to him.
It may seem expressionistic, but the truth is even darker and more grotesque than as it appears here. Actor Toni Servillo is at his best, his voice and movements are perfect, but no make-up can recreate the real features of the political monster who is the living "Portrait of Dorain Gray" of Italian politics.
