Review of Ikiru (1952) by Andrew M — 21 Oct 2007
This film leaves me with two conclusions: Either its writing and music were purposefully absurd and melodramatic, or Kurosawa was just being overly sentimental. In any case, a very "Western" film for 1950's Japan, which makes it interesting, but I still don't think I could watch it in one sitting.
It's kind of exhausting.
