This is probably my favorite Kurosawa yet! Rashomon and Seven Samaurai were really great but I never cared for one of his characters so much than in this film. I guess it's to be expected, though. This movie was pretty much perfect the first hour and 15 mins or so but then it loses some of it's steam.
It's still great but I was a little less interested in the story.Just a smidge. It's still an entirely affecting drama that has one of the most universal themes movies could probably have.
