Review of Ikiru (1952) by Tom G — 21 Sep 2008
This was a great movie with a "get off your ass and live" message. It's so sad watching the character trying to do the best he can with what little time he has left, knowing that he will die soon, but at the same time the alternative would have been even more depressing.
you come to care for him so much and then he's dead. but that's life. and it shows that we shouldn't be wasting it. the way that the co-workers all drunkenly pledge to go back in to work after his death and use their time to actually get things done, only to just go back to the way things always are is so true.
very inspiring movie.
