Review of Igby Goes Down (2002) by Mike H — 05 Apr 2010
A nihilist dark comedy that only scratches the surface of a bigger idea. You could call it minimalist, but that wouldn't make it any richer. The political ideas backing the script are typical of a hippie halfway through college getting a free ride from their parents.
But the actors are all pretty solid, enough to make the characters interesting and enough to make the story more or less worth the journey. Good lighting and camera work.
