Review of If I Were You (2012) by Cynthia M — 11 Nov 2018
I have no idea why the critics hated this movie. Perhaps before it's time? I showed this movie to three very different people and they all were huge fans by the end. If I Were You is a witty and interesting look at marriage and infidelity.
Harden and Watling's characters are flawed, emotionally raw, and fully dimensional. And the use of King Lear at the end feels emotionally cathartic without forcing a bow on it, which is something I thoroughly appreciated.
This movie is worth your time. Eff the critics.
