It's very close to the book and keeps you engaged. Chloe Grace Moretz has an incredibly strong lead in this, proving that she can hold a film on her own. The script is cheesy at some points and it isn't as powerful and driving as it could've been, plus some actors don't seem to be in their element, but, aside from that, it's a pretty good film.
