Knew nothing about the film/book, simply stumbled into cool theatre during a LA heatwave expecting YA romance and left with a headache from crying to much. Yes, I enjoyed it and I am no teenage girl. Chloe Moretz is mesmerizing on screen and the film captured the bittersweet nature of life, love and loss authentically.
Not sure why the critics don't approve, but more and more I don't seem to inhabit the same orbit as them. See it with an open mind and heart.
