Wonder of wonders, I'm transformed into a 12-yr-old girl because I love this film, according to my cynical fellow viewers. The film is hopeful, positive and it does have some good messages for young women: you determine your own fate; you have choices - use them wisely; love can be transformative. Sorry, cynics, but dark and brooding tone isn't essential to make a film worthwhile, not to mention enjoyable. A wonderful film experience.
