Review of If I Stay (2014) by Steve W — 08 Nov 2014
Chloe Moretz is the only real thing to look forward to this drama. Jumping back and forth between the accident and life before, it does a good job of showing the stakes of what will happen if she stays or if she dies.
The movie is a bit emotionally manipulative, with a nurse who is a bit too invested, and lots of young adult teen romance cliches. (young Mia asks the cute boy why he chose her, ugh) By the film's end, we're a bit emotionally tired until she makes her choice.
Despite the good performance from Chloe Moretz and Stacy Keach, everything else seems familiar.
