I actually was at one point WILLING myself to hate this film, as I recognized every single trick it it was pulling to get an emotional reaction out of me. In the end, though, all I can hate is that it suckered me.

I still can't call it good, do NOT misunderstand me, but enough of it works that if you like the schmaltzy stuff you'll probably like this. I think most of the reason I can't hate this comes down to Chloe Grace-Moretz, who just has this screen presence that makes you like her, and I guess I'm also kind of a sucker for cello music.

Yeah, and all right, there were a few quickly-wiped away tears (damn emotional manipulation!).
