Review of If I Stay (2014) by Caleb C — 04 Feb 2015
Half of the reason the movie touched me so deeply was because it was set where I call home. Portland is such an extraordinary place and to see a film capture the home life and struggles so well is definitely a good film in my eyes.
I also enjoy seeing films surrounded with music that is not your every day fast past hip hop we are so used to seeing. The team who framed and dreamed this film did an incredible job of not only creating it but also embedding their emotions into each piece.
Lastly I was surprised by both Mortez and Blackley's performance. To be honest they were a bit of the reason I didn't want to see the film in the first place. Now they have becoming two actors I really enjoy watching and look forward to seeing in the future.
Overall a well made movie that does exactly what it sets out to do.
