This film was always going to suffer from coming out a few months after The Fault in Our Stars, and like most people, I can't help but compare the two. While I thought The Fault in Our Stars was decent, there's one thing it definitely was.
Sad. And that's what seems to be missing from If I Stay. Don't get me wrong, the premise is very upsetting, which means it must all be in the execution. There's no particular weak point, but equally there's no particular high point.
