Review of If I Should Fall from Grace: The Shane MacGowan Story (2001) by Denver P — 15 Aug 2007
Great documentary about the life of Shane and his career with the Pogues. Interviews with his parents, wife, band members, Elvis Costello, Nick Cave and others. Lots of old video footage as well as a few full song videos.
Such a shame he did so much smoking, drugs and drinking. Even in this 90 minutes film you don't ever see him sober. But it was nice to see a small behind the scenes of the man who WAS the Pogues. With the money he made I'm sure he could have done something with his teeth, but I suppose that's a trademark of his. Learn from it, don't do heroin, lol.
