Even for someone that has no idea what this kind of militaristic, catholic all boy school experience is like, this is a movie that really captures the ideals of an era and makes you want to justify these anarchic feelings that these very controlled, very militaristic young men have built up.
Not many movies that have been made about anarchy and rebeling against the system have been done in such a stylistic and effective way, and through it all there is a good sense of humor.
