Review of if.... (1968) by Michael S — 06 Jan 2008
Was surprised the movie didn't shag me out, tho it was a continous turn of slang/phrase used by the characters to deride each other in this black comedy. If... summed up is like a quasi-documentary with outlandish figures serving more as comic entertainment while the protagonists echo revoluntionary undertones in their views against the establishment.
Sound familiar? The premise of us against them/them against us is one Malcolm McDowell worked to great effect in A Clockwork Orange but this is on a par with Kubrick's adaptation.
