Review of if.... (1968) by Mike H — 06 Jan 2008
A high production value and a strong ending (Lindsay Anderson's jab at traditional institutions) curb this portrayal of 1960s British boarding schools that lulls the viewer halfway to sleep -- it seems the only way Anderson could think to keep his audience awake was to turn a third of the scenes black and white at random.
