Review of if.... (1968) by Rodney E — 16 Oct 2008
The British boarding school movie that is poetic and anarchic without being too extreme. Malcolm McDowell stars in the role that Kubrick saw and then hired him for Clockwork. If dives into the stiff upper lip lives and social politics of a boarding school before the misfits stage a revolt.
Goes from color to black and white. The confrontations between McDowell and the ultra preps is good stuff. The ending and the whole climax is also great.
