Review of if.... (1968) by Rod A — 18 May 2009
An amazing portrait of dominance. Most of the time, we're all worker-bees. It's always a good thing when someone refuses to take the abuse and indignity that goes along with this status. Malcolm McDowell is the guy we want on our team.
After being treated in such a degrading manner, he gives it all right back. Those who exist within the realm of privileged status don't want to give up their comfort. This need for comfort makes them soft and this film explores the consequences of people being too concerned with maintaining their own privilege.
