Review of if.... (1968) by Rowan G — 29 Sep 2007
My favourite film of all time : perhaps made even better by its occassional flaws (the switches from colour to black-and-white weren't planned, but dictacted by the budget as shooting progressed) and the occassional moments when it gets absurdist (ie. the Chaplain in the drawer!).
Fantastic performances, a great script and the first film to encourage the questioning of the class system and promote rebellion. A must see for anyone with an interest in classic and important cinema.
