I first saw this in my early teens on tv without knowing anything about it and it blew me away. Rediscovering it as an adult I expected to be disappointed but I still it loved it just as much. The first half is an almost documentary like examination of the British private school system, the second half is more surreal and full of revolutionary fantasy.
McDowell is in his element; his role in this film is as archetypal as in A Clockwork Orange. A masterpeice...
