Review of Idiocracy (2006) by Francisco R — 14 Jan 2012
Several people loved it, but I didn't, I just thought it was okay, overall, it's a good movie. Lets start of by saying that onw of the reasons of making me like this movie were the smart jokes, I mean, I laughed a lot during this movie, even though it's not long it all.
Luke Wilson has a incredible and stupid role, Maya Rudolph is okay and the rest of the cast, basicly just plays an idiot person. I loved the idea of the movie but I still think this movie had to much to give.
Pvt. Joe Bauers (Luke Wilson) and Rita (Maya Rudolph) are two persons who are be part of a top-secret government experince wich will froze humans during a year, by choosing smart persons to be part of the experience, so a year after that, they can make the world better.
Joe and Rita are forgotten and they stay frozen from 2005 to 2505, where the world is filled with idiots and no one is smart. Joe can get out of the box where he was frozen and when he gets the chance to take a look at the people and see the world that he thought that only changed like that in a year, he finds out that he's in 2505 and everyone in the world is an idiot.
After a IQ test Joe is considered the smartes person in the world and is now in charge of turing the world in a better place, but still, him and Rita, with the help of Frito (Dax Shepard) both of them will get to a time machine where they can go back to 2005.
Sow, I guess at the first 20 minutes, the movie was being honestly a masterpiece, but some minutes after that, it just went downhill, it honestly did, this movie had an ending, that I'm not sure if I can call it predictable and I'm not sure if I can call it good or bad.
Overall, this movie was entartaining, it had a good cast and some good cameos, including with Justin Long, this movie wasn't long it all, wich I'm not sure if it's a good thing, but one thing is for sure, even though you don't like this movie, you will defenitly laugh.
This movie is extremely hilarious and I liked it, it cood be so much better, but still, I liked it and I recommend it for people who like to laugh for a while. Memorable character played by Wilson. Recommended movie.
Grade: C.
