Review of Idiocracy (2006) by Danburrito — 26 Apr 2016
Idiocracy is a fun satire that makes the most out of its amusing premise. A few of the jokes fell flat, but on the whole, there were plenty of laughs to be had. The cast were great, particularly Luke Wilson, Maya Rudolph and Dax Shepard.
At first glance, it may appear to be nothing more than a parade of low-brow gags, but it actually makes some smart jokes about the direction that humanity is heading in, delivering all the social satire that director Mike Judge has become known for.
Overall, Idiocracy is an entertaining social commentary that's already on its way to becoming a reality. Fun movie.
