Review of Idiocracy (2006) by Brianr. — 05 Sep 2006
Absolutely hilarious and smart. The humor is so dryly satirical that I am saddened that most critics who finally got to see the film were so dismissive. I guess Fox's "strategy" to not review the film put critics in the mind that this would be dreck.
Hardly. Though the style/look of the film is awful and Judge certainly doesn't have an eye for live action, the idea and script make up for everything else. I actually really enjoyed Wilson who is nowhere near a favorite of mine, and thought Shepard was fantastic (though I have to say I have real issues with Rudolph's character.
) Overall, can't wait to own this film and make sure others of like-mind get to see it. It WILL be a DVD classic, just like Office Space.
