Review of Idiocracy (2006) by Huy D — 21 May 2010
A refreshingly new idea for a comedy, Idiocracy uses the idea that instead of the human race growing smarter through the years, we instead become dumber. This idea is original enough that I'll excuse the fact that this movie uses it as an excuse to have some pretty dumb jokes.
But there are still enough funny jokes in this movie that I would recommend it. The social commentary is easy to look past, but it's there (even if the movie doesn't bother going very deep into it).
In the end, Idiocracy is worth the watch, if for nothing else than a forgettable good time.
