Review of Identity Thief (2013) by Stuart K — 26 Apr 2014
130209: Never been too big of a fan of McCarthy, nor Bateman for that matter. This film, like Warm Bodies, was caught in and identity crisis, in that it didn't know what genre to belong too. I just don't like these types of movies it seems, genre hoppers.
Were they trying to make a comedy; an action film; or a drama? Just my personal opinion, but why don't they just make a plain out funny movie from start to finish without it getting all-serious about itself? Though no one dies, there is a couple scenes of violence in this film that didn't fit with the comedy angle.
Other than this, it had potential.
