Review of Identity (2012) by Tosaka T — 07 Aug 2012
Well...what to say about this film. I watched it last night and...I still can't decide what I think about it. The design was wonderfully creepy..and the motel setting was perfect. I loved the concept, and the main twist was very interesting.
...but it felt......disjointed somehow. I think this was two different films put together. It worked in places, but not throughout. One of things that felt wrong was the reveal 2 3rds of the way through.
..and then back to the original plot (all be it with some extra info)...I particularly liked the end (almost didn't see it coming)...but thought that overall, it was one twist too many. The cast were excellent in places, but the women, and Ray Liotta (surprised at this), were poor and felt out of place among some great performances.
On the whole, I think I liked it.......but then again.....
