Review of Identity (2003) by Troy K — 04 Aug 2013
I tried to like this film more than I actually did... but in the end, I just felt like I was cheated out of a huge build up. The scares are highly predictable, the suspense is almost non-existent, and the only reason I continued to watch was because I was interested in where the story was going to go.
About half way through the film, I had the basic gist of what I knew was going to happen laid out in my head. Lo and behold, I was almost completely correct. It's an impressively written and thoroughly entertaining film, It just doesn't have all the puzzle pieces in the right places.
The last 5 minutes of the film saved it for me, as I certainly wasn't expecting that portion of it... but overall, the film is best watched without trying to figure out the ending yourself.
