Review of Identity (2003) by I Am The Vast Universe I — 27 Dec 2011
I didn't really know what to expect with Identity going in to.
The movie completely unaware of any of its plot twists.Identity builds upon its premise with slow yet effective steam through out its 90 minute run..it has a vast amount of atmosphere hell maybe even a little to spare.I was quick to figure out the first major plot twist in the film long before it struck me but I did not see the ending coming.I sincerely wish that Paris was the dominate personality at the end of all the carnage but sadly the crazed killer manifested into the form of lost innocence as a child comes out victorious against all odds perhaps its the optimist in me who simply enjoys happy endings but I would loved to see the film end with Paris in the orange grove field living her second chance at life but Identity is deeply rooted in the realm of psychological mysteries with a tint of horror thrown in for good measure so that type of ending will never be.Identity is an engrossing thriller with mystery elements that has solid performances from all its cast and was quite an entertaining late night watch that I would recommend to the masses even tho I would of preferred a more uplifting ending the approach that the film does take is without a doubt unexpected and is an twist ending that you simply do not see every day in cinema.Identity is an above average thriller that takes you on a journey into the mind of madness and dares you to think outside the box of reality.
