Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Lloyd C — 15 Jun 2009

So overrated. I saw this back when it first came out and thought it was alright, but subsequent viewings made the film get worse and worse. I am surprised how so many people praise this film. Some of the gore, camera work and ideas are decent, but nothing outstanding at all.

Visitor Q, Gozu and Audition are all much better examples of good Miike film making.
