Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Seth C — 22 May 2010
One of Miike's best films, Ichi the Killer manages to hold the viewer's attention throughout the entire film -- a feat that the occasionally boring "Audition" and "Dead or Alive" series were unable to accomplish.
It includes everything that a Miike fan could ask for: over-the-top violence, a truly sick sense of humor, sexual perversion, and gleeful nihilism. A must-see for anyone in the clutches of a manic episode.
