Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Michael V — 24 Jun 2011
Wildly entertaining and better than I remember it being. It's a true cult film and not everyone is expected to like, or even get it, but that doesn't matter. It has it's audience. It's sadistic, and gory, but in a hyper-real cartoony kind of way that lends to the manga it was based on.
As I said, it's not for everyone which leads me to create two categories for viewers of this film: Those who get it, and those who don't. I say give it a shot, but don't blame me if you don't like it.
