Review of Ichi the Killer (2001) by Helen L — 20 Dec 2011

I'm going to tell you what this movie is not: boring. Yakuza hitman Kakihara will go down as one of the craziest, sadistic characters in movie history. It will entertain a certain audience for sure.

But many times director Takeshi Miike just tries to gore us out. The torture scene in the beginning lasts to long and the tongue cutting scene I think was just there for shock value.
