Review of Ice Poison (2014) by Sara G — 17 Apr 2014
There is this concept in storytelling called show not tell. This movie fights against this concept. Every scene is - sit down. Let me tell you my problems. Here are mine. Switch scene. There is no acting. It would have been much more effective either as a documentary or as a collection of vignettes of people going through the problems.
It is long, dry, and dull. Poverty does suck but this movie does not evoke any emotion in the viewer. Perhaps in the final scene, which I could not bear to watch.
