Review of Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006) by Mrpajamas — 07 Apr 2021
I really like the first part of the Ice Age, so I had no problem throwing myself at the second one, which immediately threw a pole in my back. No, don't worry. It's not a bad movie. He's actually good.
It's just that he just let me down. The number one had a perfect plot, which gradually created a great band that worked for us. We've added new characters here, which are nice, but I guess I'd rather have only the ones left, but I'm not complaining, no.
What I'm more complaining about is the overall plot of this film. Again without spoilers and therefore I don't want to tell you what it's all about, but I just didn't like it very much. There's even one singing scene I hate, and here and there some scenes were just .
.. weird? I like it when scenes appear in movies that deviate a bit from what is happening now and are so-called **** I like to compare my favorite game Far Cry 3, which managed this "freak" to number one, but it just didn't suit me here.
To sum it all up. Ice Age: The Meltdown is a good film, which, however, does not surpass the previous one and some scenes that worked in the first place and simply turned away from the story here and there, but did not unnecessarily stretch the story, so such scenes were rather a nuisance.
Despite that, in my opinion it is a good film that I can recommend, but only if you are a fan of the series, or you have seen the number one or other parts.
