Review of Ice Age: Collision Course (2016) by Orlando O — 11 Nov 2016
Ice Age: Collision Course is a cute family film that use to be fun franchise that is slowly running off its course. Started with a great first few films with introducing fun cute characters that run on many adventures and meeting new characters and enemies on the way. While we have a nut obsessed squirrel named Scrat that is always causing silly moments and slapstick humor along the way. Five films later, it does feel like the humor went from cute and funny to outrageously being horrible with the use of slapstick humor thats been there too many times. Scrat taking his adventurous with his eggcorn to space on a alien spaceship and causing the galaxy to form with his destruction on the space ship.
Meanwhile on Earth, Manny and Ellie are having a new problem with there growing up daughter Peaches on marrying another Mammoth Julian and moving away further from them. As a ring of asteroids come down to Earth, and the herd of Sid, Diego, Shiva, and Manny come across Buck (voiced by Simon Pegg) who has a plan that thinks a crater hole is whats attracting the Big rock from coming down to earth.
These characters are still what made the movie fun, and are the driving force to see these films continue. But the concept and ideas with the story are tedious. The ideas are running low and the era of the Ice Age is soon coming to an end. Even with the laughs and charm that these characters had. Kids will love the film and get more of a kick back from these characters and the charming humor. While for the rest, Collision Course has came to an end on being funny and creative.
