Review of Icarus (2017) by Mark S — 21 Aug 2017
The documentary starts off with the goal of the filmmaker wanting to do better in a cycling race in France. To do this, he wants to dope and show how easy it is to beat the current compliance system. What he stumbles upon, is exposing the systematic doping by Russian athletes since the late 60's.
This film rolls along and then the last 3rd turns resembles a spy thriller. It's quite amazing. Intrigue, spies, murder, governments...it's really good. It's streaming on Netflix now. Definitely worth a watch.
