Review of Icarus (2017) by Andres V — 12 Oct 2017
I was thinking this was going in a different direction, from the first 30 minutes, and was quite excited for the scientific results and how the anti doping protocols could be beat, but then it took a turn, for the better, telling the story of how Russia did this exact thing to win Olympic medals.
The story is exceptionally told (if it's all true, which the Russian government denies) with the Russian trainer being a most interesting and comical character, who I really hope is doing well today.
A great film, good to watch for any sports fan, or anyone with an interest in Russian or world politics, or international sporting competitions.
Watched on Netflix at home, October 1, 2017.
