Review of Icarus (2017) by Dan B — 12 May 2018
It's a bit of an odd documentary this, it starts out with one pretty interesting but fairly low profile subject and then a third of the way in changes gears and focus to a much more high profile and extremely interesting subject, more down to circumstance than anything else.
The director (and initial subject) Bryan is likeable and I was happy enough to watch that story play out but the real intrigue is with maverick doctor, Grigory Dochenkov. He?s a bit of an anti-hero and while his whistleblowing is a good thing, given most of his professional life has been conducted immorally, the praise shouldn't go very far.
He's very funny and endearing though which makes the whole thing even more entertaining.
