Fogel’s only other filmmaking credit, the romcom “Jewtopia,” doesn’t suggest the makings of a sophisticated nonfiction storyteller, and Icarus suffers from an imitative quality that’s hard to shake.
Fortunately, Rodchenkov’s dilemma single-handedly keeps Icarus engaging throughout.
