Review of I Want Your Money (2010) by Donovan G — 15 Oct 2010
Saw it today. My politics are libertarian. So...the production values were OK for a "documentary". This was a highly partisan movie which divides the political world into democrats and republicans.
..socialists and free marketeers. There was much in the film that is accurate. There were many things that were glossed over. And there is much that is debatable. Much of the movie was an ode to Reagan.
The comedy computer graphics weren't my cup of tea but at least the kids would have something to look at. Ultimately you have to ask yourself how you see the political world. I see every politician as less than perfect.
Did I like Reagan? Compared to who? Coolidge makes Reagan look like a socialist. Democrats and other collectivists probably will not see this movie and it is a shame because they would at least get a higher quality argument than usual.
Republicans will probably cheer this movie and it is a shame because Reagan went along with some of the nutty spending when he should have been vetoing bills. So the movie is sort of a Rorschach test.
