Review of I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With (2006) by M N — 20 Oct 2008
If you are a fan of Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm, as I am, you might enjoy this movie. Now first, be forewarned that the humor is subpar to that show. Then realize that it seems to occur in a similar universe, where cameos are abundant and many times you can't tell if the actor or actress is playing themself, or satirizing themself, or even playing a part.
Now add the fact that the plot doesn't really start moving until halfwar into the movie when Jeff Garlin finally meets Sarah Silverman. Add to this a bizarre as fuck ending, and well, you got a movie about love, cheese, and acting.
It was entertaining, definitely slow, and the humor was all over the place. Really, you almost have to see this to understand what the hell I mean since a lot of times the shifts were amazing. The acting was the best part though, since the characters were ultimately very believable but at times, so much so that they were boring, annoying, or frustrating.
Damn you Jeff, I expected more about food. Damn you.
