Review of I Walked with a Zombie (1943) by Bob V — 30 Mar 2011
These aren't your typical mind-munching zombies. No lumbering corpses muttering on about brain fetishes, or frantic blood soaked relatives lunging themselves at school buses. This tranquil zombie tale focuses on voodoo folklore.
The creepiness comes from the moody atmosphere and subtle music. The pacing isn't for everyone, but it's a refreshing classic that aims at the human condition, with a few pensive zombies walking about.
