Review of I Walked with a Zombie (1943) by Ashley H — 23 Apr 2016
Whatever Val Lewton's second RKO horror film "I Walked With a Zombie" may lack in its dialogue or plot (which is shamelessly lifted straight from Bronte), it completely makes up for in its masterful mood and discomforting atmosphere.
The filmmakers make excellent use of their exotic set, which has a mesmerizing sense of horrific fantasy that is irresistible. It makes you want to stay in its world much longer.
