Review of I Wake Up Screaming (1941) by Christopher B — 04 Oct 2007
One of the greatest titles ever, and one that has nothing much to do with the plot. A bit of a disappointment, to be frank, not as atmospheric or as compelling as one would hope, but earns an extra star for Laird Cregar, who is always worth watching.
Every time he shows up the picture gets a nice kick in the rear, whether creepily keeping watch on various characters or threatening Mature with his Vincent Price drawl. The man was a treasure.
