Review of I, Tonya (2017) by Acacia — 04 Feb 2018
This movie was not at all what I expected. It was so much better! I really enjoyed the way it was presented with different characters telling their stories. All of the characters are doppelgängers for their real counterparts.
I learned quite a lot that I did not know about the whole sordid Tonya Harding story. If the movie is to be believed, the story is quite different than the story I thought was true. All of the performances are strong and Allison Janney is appropriately creepy and crazy as Tonya’s horrible, abusive mother.
The backstory is quite riveting and I was glued to the screen. Ever a dull moment.
