Review of I, Tonya (2017) by Willyam_Carr — 17 Jan 2018
What surprised me most about this film is how clever the editing is. While most films opt get laughs from dialogue or sight gags, 'I, Tonya' chooses to make comedy out of the way the film is put together.
Margot Robbie gives a performance that will launch her career from movie star to actress. She plays the role as the determined, but vulnerable skater with grace and tenacity. However, the best turn in the film comes from Allison Janney.
As the mother of Tonya Harding, Janney gives a layered and deeply moving performance, that is laugh-out-loud hilarious.
