Review of I, Tonya (2017) by Tiffany G — 04 Jan 2018
The movie was well acted and well cast. Allison Janney is a joy to watch and Margot Robbie plays a very compelling and honest version of Tonya.
However, the movie felt very slow. The trailers sold this film as a 90's flashback romp of a story, which was somewhat misleading. I also felt as though the story was told in a confusing way - was this Tonya's story, Jeff's story, or just a general idea of how the story could have been told? I understand the point was to let the audience make their own conclusion, but instead I was left confused.
Overall, if you were a kid who followed the story as it unfolded in real life - it's a relatively enjoyable film worth seeing.
