At first I didn't think this movie was so bad, but thinking about it... it's COMPLETELY un-necessary and un-needed. Why was it made? Well, obviously to try and squeeze more money out of an already quite dull idea.
I genuinely do not know how this film was giving an MPAA rating of R and a BBFC rating of 18. It's ridiculous, not once in the movie did I feel scared or creeped out...
The scenes in this film which are meant to be suspenseful just fail on so many levels and this is made ten times worse by how unrealistic and stupid the actual idea of the scene is. For example *SPOILERS* the scene in which Julie is trapped in the sun bed. This scene is supposedly meant to be incredibly suspenseful... It isn't. It's just laughable.
The acting isn't great either. Actually, it's just as terrible as the rest of the film. I suppose Jennifer Love Hewitt does a decent job in the first half of the film but she then plumets to be just as laughable as the rest of the cast.
Overall, I'd rate this not-scary-whatsoever 'horror' film 2 out of 10 (20%).
